![]() It is recommended for English teachers to use Write-pair-square as the strategy for students’ improvement of their writing skill. According to this study, I conclude that teaching descriptive text by using write-pair-square as the strategy is helpful for students. The average achievement of students’ pretest was63.27, First cycle test was70.23and post test was 77.66. It also showed that students’ mastering descriptive improved. The average score of pre-test was 11.27, post-test 1 was 20.13, and post-test 2 was 30.24. The result showed that the students’ progress of participation improved. This study used Classroom Action Research that was carried out through a pre-test, first and second cycle activities. The subjects are SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang students. Many problems faced by students in participating in the classroom and writing a text. It is suggested that English teachers applyPRWR method in teaching reading recount text. Thus, it was found that the applications of Preview, Read, Write,and Recite (PRWR) method in process of teaching improved students’achievement in reading recount text. The improvement showedthat in cycle I and II, based on the total average score it was 16 (42,4%) up to 26(78,7%) in cycle II, The secondary data gathered from interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet, showed that students’ expression and enthusiasticalso improved. There were only 9 students who hadpassed minimum criteria KKM in orientation test (75). It could be seen from the comparison of result inthe orientation test and the cycle test I and II. Based on analysis data, it was found that thestudent’s achievement improved. Primary data were collected by giving 20 questions of multiple-choicetest, the aspects contained in the tests focused on generic structure, main ideas,factual information, and Secondary data were collected by (interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet. The subject of this study was first year of SMAN 1Delitua. This research applied classroom action research model.
